Island Air fleet modernization and the Image

Island Air, a regional carrier of Hawaii, announced yesterday, it will be doubly operations start next month, when the first of seven aircraft will be added to its fleet. Instead of 144 seats combined Island Air offer currently with four aircraft, it will be soon able to deliver twice that number, a total of 376 seats.

Island Air may be a good option for inbound tourists for the island hop.

The largest fleet of turboprop aircraft will be "more fuel efficient and carry more passengers than the Dash 8 which is replaced aircraft", Island Air CEO Lesley Kaneshiro said in a press release. Aircraft turboprop engines use external propeller (as shown in the photo above), which makes it easier to fly to smaller airports, such as West Maui, County 'i, Lana' i and Kapalua. Often, this can be less expensive that flies to major airports. However, the new fleet of ATR aircraft will be able to fly at these airports.

The announcement of the upgrade of the Island Air in aircraft coincides with its new image. This includes an improved Web site, a new system of painting and a fresher - research logo. The changes and additions to its brand will be gradually overtime with completion expected in the fall. For more than three decades, Island Air has served residents and tourists inter-island flight. Initially, Island Air was founded in 1980 to provide a regular service between Princeville and Honolulu. Today, it offers 352 flights per week between O 'ahu, Maui, County' i, Lana 'i, Kaua'i' i and the large island.

After the flight with Air island several times, I wanted to take note of the open-seat policy, which means that there are no assigned seats. This could complicate difficult for passengers with children because there is no guarantee that they will be seated next to an adult family member. The recent announcement that the airline did not mention a change in its policy of seats or made note of the attraction of aircraft being quieter with the new model of ATR. Hum Island Air often low engine flying on Dash 8 reminded me how it would be to fly in the "olden days,"from today, we are so accustomed to smooth and quiet rides on larger aircraft."" If you choose to Air of the island, it is preferable to appear at the beginning for the seats and wait for each flight to take between 30 minutes and one hour, depending on the destination.
